Lean for the Operating Room

Intended Audience: Operating room physicians, nursing staff, technicians and in-out bound units (e.g. ED, ICU, sterilizations, patient ward, planning, management and controlling).
Key Participant Benefits:

The Lean for the Operating Room program employs a mix of interactive lectures, hands-on cases analyses, and experiential simulations to learning and understanding applications of lean in the operating room environment.

As a participant in the program, you will learn how to apply customized lean principles to more effectively:


  • Identify and eliminate waste from your organization’s value stream
  • Understand operational dysfunction and how to identify high-leverage areas for improvement
  • Identify solutions specific to OR functions
  • Determine a road-map to begin or accelerate a lean transformation based on an organization’s needs, skills, culture, and commitment
