Key Participant Benefits
Performance-Based Logistics: The Basics and Beyond is a four-day program focused on establishing and executing performance-based logistics contracts and programs.  A balance of theory and application is provided through lectures, question/answer sessions, case studies, and small-group exercises.  Program faculty members are university and industry experts in performance-based logistics issues.

Launched in 2005, Performance-Based Logistics: The Basics and Beyond is the first direct outcome of the funded research housed in the University of Tennessee Aerospace/Defense Clearinghouse of Tennessee (AD TN), a consortium of aerospace/defense companies and universities that links organizations needing training and development with individuals who can provide it.

The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon Company sponsored the applied research conducted in 2005 that led to the program’s development.  In addition to relying on the support of these five sponsors in developing the curriculum, the University of Tennessee developed a strategic partnership with the Defense Acquisition University (DAU).

This course may substitute for one of the six courses required for Supply Chain Management Certification.
