Melissa Bowers

Melissa Bowers is Associate Professor and Chair of the Management Science Program. Her research interests include production planning and scheduling, production and operations management, and vehicle routing.

She has served as a production planning and scheduling consultant for the Defense Logistics Agency as well as for several large manufacturing organizations. Dr. Bowers has articles published in her areas of research in Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operations Research, Interfaces, and others.

She is a member of The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the Decision Sciences Institute. In addition, she serves as a journal referee for the Journal of Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research and for the Institute of Industrial Engineers.

She received her Ph.D. in Management Science from Clemson University.
