H. Dudley Dewhirst is a professor in the Department of Management at The University of Tennessee. His past work experience was with Exxon USA where he held staff and managerial assignments in process development research, operations analysis, and management evaluation.
Dr. Dewhirst conducts seminars for business executives in various areas of management and specializes in the management of technical employees. His interests include management of scientists and engineers, self managing teams, project management, the management of organizational change, and management of technology based organizations. He has authored many articles for academic and management journals and has served as a consultant to a number of organizations such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Knoxville Community Development, and the Knoxville Worlds Fair. Dr. Dewhirst worked on the team to develop and teach the U.T. College of Business MBA program as well as the Executive MBA program. Dudley received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from V.P.I., MA. from Harvard and a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Texas.
